How did we meet?
Sadly, neither of us have recollection of the very first time we met. Strange that may sound, it makes more sense when you hear the story. It goes like this. In 2003, we were both young college students living in the Centennial apartments in Provo, UT. We were in the same ward, the same FHE group (she was the family home evening leader), but we were young and naive. My first memory of her was at an FHE, and she had this game where she put a skittle candy on top of a “sand castle” of flour. Each person had to take slices out of the flour until the skittle fell down into the middle of the flour (if your having a hard time visualizing it, think jenga). Well the person who made the skittle fall, had to fish it out with his/her teeth. I remember she placed herself as judge of the game she organized, knowing the consequences of participating as a player. She says, she just remembers me as a “cutie”.

We did go on a single date in 2004 (we barely remember), but it was not until three years later on a re-meeting that I was awakened. I was living in Salt Lake City with the same roommate as in college. He went a different singles ward than I did, and he became Natalie’s home-teacher for a second time! He had home taught her during our Centennial days as well. I ended up going to one of his ward bbq activities, and there she was! And we’ve been very well reacquainted since.
